| | Hmmm... what to post about a wedding, nearly two weeks after the fact...
Well, I thought it was just perfect. I couldn't have asked for
better. Thank you to everyone who came - it meant what it did
because you were there. Some other random thoughts:
-there is nothing - nothing - like walking into a church and knowing everyone sitting in it. Such great love!
-planning *does* pay off. As long as in the end you can leave the details to someone else.
-did I mention how loved I felt? From Brian of course, but also
from everyone there, who'd come from near and far and given up their
Saturday to be there.
-you know you're in Nevada when the marriage license office is open from 8am-midnight 7 days a week (including holidays).
-Emily: Can I call you JJ now? Julia: No.
-I'm glad we decided not to leave for our honeymoon until Monday.
It was nice to have some time to relax after the wedding, as well as
visit with friends and family, before dashing off. I'm surprised
more people don't do that.
-I don't think I stopped smiling the entire day. SO much fun.
There are lots of pictures, between those from other people (something
like 800 from Brian's family alone) and the photographers. We'll
put some online as soon as we can, though that probably won't be till
after we get to DC.
So, we're leaving Reno next Tuesday, July 26. We're taking Amtrak
to DC because we decided not to take the car (too expensive for
now). That'll take about 3 days, and will undoubtedly be
late. If we're lucky we might make our connection in Chicago, but
we aren't counting on it. As of now, I've almost packed up my
whole life (including completely vacating my bedroom at my parents'
house - weird!). Just a couple more days before a whole new
adventure begins!
Sometimes it's hard to believe the life you're living is actually yours, ya know?
By the way, this is where our new apartment is: Google map
